Stuff For Your Brain

A few things, from our brain to yours.

  • "Race is a pigment of the imagination" Copyright©1990 Teja Arboleda
  • Infuse the idea of diversity of all forms into everything you teach.
  • We were not born in boxes, so don't put yourself (or others) in one.
  • Languages are 'foreign' only if you tell a child it's foreign.
  • Every aspect of our physical body is regenerated at least six times in our lives.

  • There are over 3,000 versions of Christianity.
  • Asian does not mean exotic.
  • What are you?" is not a proper way of asking what a person's ethnic heritage is.
  • If aliens landed on planet earth, offer them a cup of good coffee.
  • Only .002% of our DNA has anything to do with our hair color, the shape of our eye lids, width of our noses, or the texture of our hair, yet we're obsessed with defining ourselves by these attributes.
  • Most Russians are Asian.
  • Africans from Morocco are not typically as dark as Sudanese.
  • White South Africans are technically African.
  • Europeans are not necessarily White.
  • Obama is 'White' and 'Black'.
  • 10% of Americans are gay or lesbian.
  • 15 million children in the US, go to bed hungry every night.

  • Freedom of speech doesn't mean anyone can say whatever they want about anybody at anytime.
  • Platform shoes and bellbottom jeans were, at one time, cool, and will be again.
